Welcome to Castlemist
Mastiffs.
We hope that you find our new, updated
web site easier to view and navigate, and that new visitors find something here
of value whether you are researching the breed for possible inclusion as a
family member, researching bloodlines within the breed, or looking for links for
information on health, showing, training, books, local clubs or other Mastiff
fanciers.
I have tried to include as much information here as I possibly can. If I missed something you'd like to see, please let me know.
Our animal family consists of several Mastiffs and two Australian Shepherds as well as a female vosmarie eclectus & a pair of african greys.
We have been heavily involved in many aspects of the Mastiff fancy. Between us, we have competed in conformation, obedience and juniors. I have been most involved in the health issues in various capacities as well as creating, founding and (with lots of help) launching the national Juniors Program. We are learning and plan to compete in agility as well. We are completely enamored of the Australian Shepherd world in addition to Mastiffs, though we would not call it our "second breed" in any way other than chronologically.
I graduated from nursing school in 2005,
so I'm a new RN! Thanks to support from some wonderful people, this
dream has come true. A special thanks to my loving husband Chris for gently
adjusting my mindset for the better and loving me completely;
to Anne and Alan for going way above and beyond while helping
me hold things together here through the Perfect Storm as well into
the past and future; to my two lovely, brilliant, strong and supportive daughters for
being so great and yet mostly remembering to be kids, too;
to Dad and Barb for your loving support and complete confidence in me... and
to Chelsea and Connor, for (usually) not thinking of me as the Evil Stepmother.
;-) I will do my best to make you all proud.
Because of these obligations as well as my new career, if you email or call and
I don't get back to you within a day or so, please do try again. I
try to get to everything, but when time does not permit, the
existing obligations are handled first and new calls or answering emails is
the thing sometimes left undone. If you bear with me and try again I will be happy
to do everything I can to answer any questions you might have. We
are very much looking forward to rejoining the dog show community!
Thank you for visiting our web site. Come again soon!
