Morpheus' pedigree.


2001:  At the 2001 National in Atlanta, GA, Morph finished his CD, won first runner-up in Tournament of Mastiffs and also co-piloted my daughter, Erin, to her Best Junior win all in the same week!  He also passed CERF again and was cardiologist certified normal.  It was a good week for him!
 
The 2003 National was a very special experience for us.  In addition to some great wins for our puppy entry (see Keeper's page), there was another runner-up Tournament win for Morpheus with an entry of 46 under a panel of three breeder-judges.  This was outstanding for him, with just half a year to go until he is eligible for veterans classes!   This win was owner-breeder-handled.

But, best of all, Morpheus earned an Award Of Merit under AKC breeder-judge Fred Simon!  There were 115+ Mastiff champions entered in Best of Breed, and only 11 AOMs were given.  In a National with over 600 entries, this was quite an honor; again, at age five and a half and owner-breeder-handled to boot.  Morpheus was the only AOM with an obedience title for that year.

About his parents:
Peaches is a Five Star Gold Mastiff bitch, good hips, plus Cystinuria negative.
 

Otis (Ch. Ridgewood's Otis) is OFA hips and elbows, CERF eyes.
He was the top Mastiff in the country for quite a while.  Otis truly exemplified the ideal Mastiff stud dog; big, sweet, gentle, and a bit goofy.

His son Morpheus has followed in those footsteps.
Of course in all fairness, Peaches, too, deserves some credit for the great qualities in these four puppies.  She was very sweet, gentle, extremely sound and adored children.

Morph was a typical Mastiff pup at six months, very high in the rear!!
